UltraTech Cement, a division of the Aditya Birla group, said that a combination of brown and green field projects would make up the growth. “UltraTech has deliberately spent more than Rs 50,000 crore over the last seven years to assist India’s rapidly evolving infrastructure sector. Our recent pledge of Rs 13,000 crore demonstrates our steadfast faith in India’s economic potential. The chairman of the Aditya Birla Group, Kumar Mangalam Birla, said, “With each investment, we have not only increased our footprint but also fueled India’s needs for housing, roads, and other essential infrastructure.”

“Earlier this year, I had expressed our goal to reach a capacity of 200 mtpa, and this expansion represents a critical step in that direction,” he said. UltraTech solidifies its standing as a national champion and one of the biggest cement businesses in the globe with this round of capex.

A portion of the expansion entails spending Rs 180 crore on equipment for alternate fuel input and handling as well as Rs 453 crore to establish extra 39 MW of waste heat recovery systems (WHRS).

By the end of2027, UltraTech Cement will employ more than 60% renewable energy.

A total WHRS capacity of more than 400MW and around 1.5 GW of renewable energy will enable this.

Following the Board’s approval of the third phase of development today, UltraTech will have operations in five major regions of the nation: the South (35.5 mtpa); the East (40.4 mtpa); the North (36.2 mtpa); the Central (35.7 mtpa); and the West (33.8 mtpa).

Four greenfield bulk terminals, four brownfield plants, and four greenfield plants will be built in order to accomplish this. The firm said that commercial production from these additional capabilities is anticipated to begin gradually in FY26 and would propel the company’s cement capacity to 187 mtpa worldwide.
